Question by Sam: What are some cheap vacation ideas for me and my boyfriend?
My boyfriend’s birthday is coming up and I want to take him on a fun vacation in March, April, or May. We live in St. Louis, MO so if we’re driving I don’t want it to be any more than a couple days away. I’m going to be paying for it myself and I don’t have a whole LOT of money so the cheaper, the better. We both love warm weather and hate the cold, Any ideas???

Hikerette dwarfed by the bulk of Mt. Rainier

Mt. Rainier was the 4th stop on my Summer 2009 "This Sure Beats Working" tour. I spent two days in Mt. Rainier, SE of Seattle in Washington State in late August 2009.
Mt. Rainier is one of my absolute favorite places in the world. I lived outside of Seattle in the 1980s and visited Rainier countless times, but this was my first visit in many many years – and I hit it on some incredibly nice days.
On the second day I hiked to Panorama Point from Paradise – it is a great hike with a lot of elevation gain – but it was well worth it. You start by passing fields of wild flowers and then get into rocky trails above treeline. The views are incredible. Go for it if you have that chance!

Planning a vacation during the summer months or any time of the year can be hectic. Finding the right hotel, the right vacation destination and the right accommodations can be difficult. This difficulty becomes even more complicated for green living lifestylers. Finding Eco-friendly accommodations and the perfect green friendly vacation spot is often next to impossible. GoGreen.org is looking to change that. Their new expansion blog series, debuting this week, features green living friendly vacation spots, ideas and discounts available year round.
Content and Social Media Manager, Megan Coogle, announced the new expansion just a few days ago. During the announcement she had the following to say. Going green and living a green lifestyle does not stop when school lets out. We want to help families continue to enjoy their green lifestyle with Eco-friendly vacation ideas, hot spots and discounts. This blog series, debuting Monday July 9, 2012, will give our readers some new ideas and expose them to ideas they may not have considered.
The blog expansion is part of a new theme series that GoGreen plans to kick-off starting with the vacation theme. The blog will have a new vacation related post each morning at 10am cst. Each blog will talk about a new idea, discount or resort that features green travel, training or spa options. Resorts and volunteer centered cruises will also be featured during this blog.
The new theme series is set for announcement next week through the GoGreen.org site. Early word on this series expansion is said to tie into the growing amount of GoGreen subscribers who have been asking for an all-inclusive experience of blogs, articles and video tutorial options on various green living topics.
