What is the best Colorado Rocky Mountain Scenic Route?

I plan to enter Colorado coming from St. Louis on I-70 on day 1. What is the best scenic route for a 6-7 day all-around vacation (I want to be back in St. Louis by day 6 or 7). Also, if I leave St. Louis on day 1 early in the morning where should I stop for the night to avoid missing any scenery as I enter Colorado?

It’s about 850 miles from St. Louis to Denver. You might want to consider stopping about half way for the first night. So, I would suggest staying in Salina, Kansas. My favorite scenic route in Colorado is the “Peak to Peak” highway. Also, the “Trail Ridge Road” (highway 34) in the “Rocky Mounatin National Park” is a beautiful drive.
To get the Peak to Peak highway from Interstate 70, take exit 244 onto northbound Highway 119. The byway begins in Black Hawk and continues along Highways 119, 72, and 7 ending in Estes Park.

I was thinking about going on a ski trip to Colorado this summer with my girlfriend but where would the best place be to go in Colorado
And another question is can you go there during the summer? will there still be snow on the grounds?! lol

I’ve only been to Keystone and Breckenridge, but I love them both! I’ll give you a brief rundown of each 
okay…
Keystone. PROBABLY my favorite out of the two, mainly because of the atmosphere, it’s great! It has great long runs, ranging from reallyyy easy to reallyyy hard. (no duh! lol) I love the food here! haha, a little tip, I believe there’s 3 peaks, and on the 2nd peak, there’s this place called the outpost. Real outback/western feel, with GREAT food! ahah. And it’s soo much fun to sit outside on a nice warm day. The plaza at the bottom, well, the River Run plaza is greatttt. Atmosphere.wise. Plenty of neat shopping and cool bars/restaurants.
Breckenridge=AMAZING wide slopes. The first time I went there, there was rock solid ice, but the second time = niceeee snow. The layout here is nice. There is plenty of variety too. The town of Breckenridge is reallyyy co
